Does your dog need a class
devoted entirely to tricks?
Only if he has already
been through Basic Obedience
AND is ready for some
of the best fun he’s
ever going to have.
Trick training increases
your dog’s ability
to handle mental challenges
and strengthens the bond
between you and your dog,
all the while teaching
the kinds of behaviors
that will make you the
envy of all your friends!
After all, sitting on
command is nice —
distinguishing between
six different toys and
bringing you only the
one you’ve asked
for, however, is impressive.
Trick training requires
a lot of physical coordination
and is great exercise
for your dog. Some dogs
are unable to do certain
tricks because of physical
limitations (Pugs don’t
have a nose to balance
treats on; long-backed
dogs can be uncomfortable
in a roll-over), so a
reasonable substitute
will be offered.
